Hi, after a little help on the rts clutch as I'm a bit confused, I've had a search, found a lot of info but not what I'm after, is it 2 standard clutches I need or 1 ap clutch and 1 standard etc? What else is needed to make an rts clutch? What sort of price does it cost?

I'm running around 130bhp, which I've heard is about on the limit of an uprated clutch, is rts the way to go? Or will an ap uprated clutch be ok?

Cheers.

You just need 2 clutches of the same type wheter it be standard or AP.. You'll also need 9 shouldered M10 bolts and thick hardened washers, and preferably some 0.5mm sleeve to put over the bolts to bring the shank size to 11mm.

Your looking at about £20-£30 for the bits you need to convert it + the two clutches.

Its really not worth going for the uprated verto, as it costs more and will be right on its limit. You may aswell make a clutch that is more than up to the job and save some cash. :)

Ok so could I buy a new standard clutch and then use the springs from my old used clutch or any old used clutch?

The rts seems the way to go,

Also is it just a case of putting the 2 clutches together or do I need to get the flywheel machined or balanced? Ill be using my standard flywheel still.

I just used 2 old clutches, but I fitted a new friction plate as the old ones were no good.

I went to get mine balanced, to find it was still in balance (even after loads of machining to take some weight off it) *oh well*

Personally I'd get it balanced, just for peace of mind.

If you can get some second hand ones go for that option, and spend your money on a decent friction plate.

Thats an expensive way to do it Nick.

The way I'm doing it is costing me next to nothing to build, got 2 clutches for 20quid, some bolts for £4 and I just need spacers and then to get it balanced.
