Hi Guys, thought I would say hello.

I am 24 and have owned Mini's for over 10 years! I have had plenty of cars in between and currently run a 205 Gti for a daily runner.

My trusty 83 Mini is going through another rebuild, this time for competition spec. It is not actually going to be blown but after flicking through a fair few mini forums, you guys seem the least sensible, so the type of clan I will get on just fine with, if you don't mind me hanging about.*happy*

I have spent a fortune on the Mini but after a mad couple of years she has been left, unloved in my (very dry) garage. She has recently been dusted off and the rebuild is back underway.

It is currently at the rolling shell stage really, with no interior etc fitted. I will run off some of the pretty long spec sometime when its not so late!

Anyway, thought I would say hello and if anyone has any top tips on welding in the cage plates for a bolt in cage that would be grand. I have had a quick look at the welding page and done a search, both of which helped a bit already!

what do you want to know about the cage strengthening plates? i have just done this job, and would be happy to give you any advice or take any photos you require...... best pm me since i rarely remeber to check threads i post on!!!
