just wondering what is the best for cleaning dirt, muck oil grease etc off an engine block and box? thinners, degreaser etc.

Did you see the shiny gearbox yesterday?

That was gunk, wire brush and a sccrubing brush.

Gunk is fantastic, I prefer the brush on version in a tin rather than the aerosol



i've also found that baby wipes are handy for giving things a regular once over when the car is in the garage, they work brillianly on silicon hoses especially.

Gunk or hypa clean other thing I found that worked is overn cleaner for them hard to move bits

I use Jizer or Hyperclean just because I hate the stink of Gunk.

Finish off with hot water and detergent,and the jet wash.

Been using liquid dynamo on the motorbike which has been great for removing the gease that gets fung off the chain. Mix about a 1 part dynamo with 10 parts warm water. Spray on , leave 5mins then hose off / wipe off
