I have been changing the complete lot of brakepipes on a mk1 golf gti today,they are dual circuit diagonal split with inline pressure reducers for rear.

If you get to the stage you reily on this system your not maintaining your car well enough!

No we have newmaster cyl,rear cylinders recon front calipers copper pipes and goodridge hoses Its an emergency back up... both systems have flaws. The diagonal split is design to prevent a complete loss of your main brakes, remember that 70% comes from your fronts!!! The only problem with it is that the car will steer fairly violently in the event of a leak were as the other system will pull up in a stright line. I have been in a mondeo before when a disc broke away from the bell and I wouldn't say it pulled violently perhaps it dependent on car weight Alex

agree with alex regular checks and you shoyld notice any problems before they occur, and how could you plumb in diaganol braking when you only get 1 brake line to feed the rear brakes on a mini? no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.
