just a few questions dave, 1, how have you settle in usa 2, have you bought a good old american mussle car, or do you still thinking for economy, even though petrol about ?1 15 a gallon, 3, any locals taken a intrest in your car or keep it under a blanket seeing its cold over there, any way dave the weather here in central scotland sun been spliting the skys, rgds pete

Bought an F-150 long bed, regular cab, 4x4 truck. Decided I wasn't too arsed about power - it's a truck after all - so went for the smallest (and regarded as the most economical and longest lasting) engine in the range; the six pot. Drove it for a few weeks, and from the power thought it was something like 3.0, maybe 3.5 litres - nope, it's 4.9 (300ci). Does about 15-16 to the gallon with all my short runs and driving to work at 80-85... But that's about 19mpg in 'english' gallons - which ain't too shabby for a 4.9 engine; might also explain why it's got the power of a lambretta.

Cars are still in my friends storage barn. getting them titled this afternoon (hopefully)... Will be runnign up the local drag-strip sometime late April - basically it's going to remain in the same spec as it raced last year at Avon and the shows after - so I can make sure that i'm getting consistent trap speeds and times compared to the UK strips - handy for 'baselining' future mods and to give credit to when i run a low 13 second pass in the future !

Temperature - in the past 2 weeks, We've had -14 at night as a min, and +12 has been the hottest. Today it's 4 degrees and bright sunshine.

yeah my wife wants another 4x4, she doesent understand no, dave keeps us posted what the locals think of mini when they see it, good luck
