I have been thinking of drilling and tapping the dizzy blanking plug to fit a union door some extra breathing? Any reason why this is a stupid idea? I don't have they one on the clutch side of my engine.

Thanks for any comments

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

do it,

put an oil seperator in there though as the crank will chuck a fair bit of oil that way.

just a canister filled with steel wool should do, it can jsut go in the pipe.

or, you can do what I have done with my transfer breather, I ran it into the rocker cover, and then run one big breather tube (1") to a catch tank.

what you can do is go from the dizzy hole to the rocker cover then put breater from the rocker cover so if you get oil up the pipe it will stay in the engine

I made this as a dizzy blanking plug, threaded inside incase
a) I need to block it off
b) Incase I need to get a slidehammer on it later on!

Behind is my rocker cover, as Joe said (well I used his idea anyway!) I was planning to run the take-off into the rocker cover and then pipe it off to the catch tank :)

I'm not so sure that there is a requirement for a canister.

Where are you feeding it to?

If you are just taking it to a catch tank then there is no need for a canister. Canisters filled with 'wire wool' are really to stop flame fronts from backfires through the carb getting to the sump.

Presuming that your catchtank is likely to be a reasonable distance from the dizzy hole and maybe above it, this should prevent any slashed oil getting very far.

I'm not sure I see the point of feeding it back to the rocker cover, this will be at a similar pressure to the sump so won't really help breathing at all.

Damn, I knew I forgot something, I mean "I made this dizzy blanking plug©"

It has been specially designed you see, so the extra ridges increase aerodynamics..

well after drilling three holes, tapping two, one heater take-off, some pipe, and clips I ended up with this.... I used the ford filler/breather cap just made the 90 deg easier.. Hopefully it will help..

I copied this idea, Im using the rocker box to catch any oil, which then vents out through the other blue pipe, hopefully it will help crankcase pressure.

Turbo parts collector at the moment, almost ready.
