A Few Questions...

ok i took my old 1040 engine out on saturday and so i have a few questions to be answered i will try and remember them lol
firstly i noticed that my dirivers side drive shaft has a grove in it its quite deep and worrys me, is it right? i cant see anything that might have worn it away or anything like that but should i get a new shaft to be safe becouse i have a spare at a freinds house its just a pain changing it if its not needed.
next is the fuel lines, i have priced up ?30 worth of 8mm fuel line from halfords but then i remeber the trouble feeble had with is 8mm lines vs 10mm OD regulator outlets is this not a bodge or is it ocnsiderd OK to just squeeze them 2mm out of the lines?
erm i think thats it for now but i will be back, alos anyone near west yorkshire with a welder that could weld my box in for cash or any ideas on how to find someone to do it for me? i asked a garage but he said he has nothign portable enough to get to my house and i dont fancy the towing idea if i can avoid lol

dan, whats the box? Battery box or exaust or ??

i used 8mm injection fuel line, think it was ?15 for 10m of the stuff, rated to 150psi

Some shafts do have a machined groove in them as std. Nothing to worry about, I believe it is there to allow a special leyland tool to be used to pull the inner cv race off the shaft or something. In any case BL special tool #1 BFH (as mentioned in another thread) and BL special tool #2 (big fuck off chisel) have always done the trick for me...............

benross it was the bulkhead box i was talking about, how far away are you? i cant really get it to you as i dont have a trailer or anything and it has no engine
i got my engine yesterday tho and got payed today so its all about the time now!

when things are sorted

We will go get benross when its all bolted in dan and make him check yer car over before we start it. REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED WITH MINE!

Fuel in pipe connected to plenum - filled whole engine + plenum with fuel etc, also remember the bolt through the flywheel so the engine couldnt turn over

lol but you will never make them mistakes again jim so it was worth making them relaly and it was so funny hearing EVERYTHING fill up with petrol lmao i will never forget the never ending sound lolol
