I know that a 37mm restriction plate is the equivalent to the brass ring in a standard plenum in terms of cfm, but looking at the plenum i have now, is it possible to add another restrictor ring upstream?

The thought i have in my head now is that the air in a plenum loses velocity in some shape or form and the engine takes what it needs readily. In my current train of thought, a restrictor plate at the mouth of the carb would increase the velocity in which the air travels as opposted to the way the ring works in the standard item in my head by reducing velocity, so. With that in mind, could i add another restrictor plate on the plenum inlet where the silicon hosing goes, therefore retaining the cfm flow of the 37mm, but with the plenum itself reducing velocity as intended? Or am i just talking complete gibberish? Either way, id like to know other peoples thoughts on this :)

The plenum in question i own, is turbominivanman's custom montego plenum.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

it will make no diffrence at all,
the idea of the ristrictor ring is to keep the fuel pressure correct constant in the carb under boost, thats it! ....... if anything it will impede flow IMO
