I guys, just checking your thoughts, I'm just about to fit an alloy front plate and alloy venier duplex. Was considering swapping my phase 2 for a billet 266. My engine is now almost finished, but am worried the phase 2 may be to hairy. I really want a smooth engine to pull from 2k. Max 16psi boost. I plan to fit my 7 port head later this year with SC injection kit and custom plenum, fir this I will run higher CR 8.8-1, and slightly less boost. How does the phase 2 drive, lumpy? Off cam? Etc. Basic engine spec 1293, med offset 36x32 head, omegas, T2 hybrid, mirage etc.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

time the phase 2 at 107 they are very civalised at that and pull well early on
they are hard to beat in a turbo motor but.................. a 266 is a belting cam if you want the engine a little more civalised

I don't think the phase 2 is a bad cam drivability wise. It certainly isn't 'lumpy'.

I think I'll stick with phase 2, I had timed it in at 108 with steel venier. Why now 107 Steve? What do you guys rev the phase 2 too. Isn't it called a hungry hippo?

Phase 2 will peak about 6 and redline about 6500, maybe a little bit higher.

I agree its quite drivable, almost tame IMO

Almost tame? Compared to what it N/a terms. I don't plan to drive flat out all the time. I getting really pissed off with my current engine (1380, str930, full race spec) I hate driving it slow or any where near traffic, but on the other hand I've also had 1330 with Sw5 and got bored after 20 miles.

compared to a 296 its a pussycat, thats the beuty of turbo, smooth idle and flexible, but will snap your neck when you boot it!

It's worlds apart from a lairy NA cam. It might not make peak power till further up the revs, but the rest of the rev range is usable.
