Today is the first day my car has been started and on the road in 10yrs so i'm going to start popping up with quite a few questions now.

With the car on idle there is quite a noise/rattle coming from the engine, someone at the MOT station called it a diesel. anyway, upon pressing the clutch pedal the 'rattly' noise soon went away, but returned on releasing the clutch.

I have SC drops and a timkin idler, does this sound normal or do I need to check something?

Might be worth just raising the idle speed a little as the noise does abate a small amount but to be honest, you're probably stuck with it as that SC combo is destined to be as loose as they get.

I guess I'm a bit sad really but that noise on mine is kinda reassuringly nice in a strange kinda way !

I just love the look on peoples faces when you pull up next to them and they think the gears are about to come out the bottom of the car !

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.
