Right lads i am stuck! in a jam! what ever you want to call it, and am looking for some TM loving, so i can get this mini on the road.
I can only get the car in at VMAX on Friday and my man with a trailer can not help at all, also he said that he can’t lend me the trailer as it’s not his. I can’t drive the car there as i am scared of killing it cos it’s not set up right ( and i don’t know how) and is running to hot also i have no MOT.

So is anyone up for calling around my place to help me get this car running right so at least i can drive it there and my wife will feed and water you.

Or is anyone sat around on Friday with a trailer that maybe able to help me out. Vmax is 17.2miles from me and i will pay for any fuel used.

I am in brookwood (GU24) any help would be great as I am really desperate to get this running!

Nothing is impossible it just costs more and takes longer.

Somewhere around Swindon

ring your local recovery place that should cost no more than £75 to get taken there on a truck

its a shame your so far away i would have happily chucked it on my trailer

As Wolfie says, but look in your local rag and ring round. There is a guy up here who will move a car about 15 miles for £30!

I'd be tempted to drive it tbh mate. It can't be any more than 20miles from you? *oh well*

Have you put any miles on it since the rebuild? You'd be best clocking up some before the RR tbh, just to iron out any teething problems and bed the rings in a bit.

The lack of the MOT is the big issue,as well as offering to put it on a RR untried.

I understand your keen to get it on the road, but why not get it mot,d, run it in,carefully, as has been suggested, and then you wont be biting your fingernails down to the elbow when its on the rollers.

Yes mate I have a wideband but I am still trying to get my head around how it works aswell*frown*.

Have you got any tips on getting it set for the MOT and I will put the RR on the backburner to next week then.

The timing is on but I will check it again tomorrow. I think it's the fueling, what should I be seeing on the wideband?

Thanks Simon.

At WOT my car is at 12.5:1,

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I would set your idle mixture to about 13.5:1. Not too rich as you dont want bore wash. Then put the thickest oil you have in the dashpot to stop it leaning out on the way there.
You can check your mixture at 500 rpm intervals up to 3000 rpm while it is sat on the drive. These readings will be roughly the same as you will get driving on the road off boost. If it stays within 15:1 and 13:1 you will have no probs poodling off boost to the MOT and rollers.
You can set your megajolt conservatively like this:
1000 10 deg
1500 13 deg
2000 16 deg
2500 and up all 18 deg

The Mot should be just a smoke test anyhow
