Is it advantageous to use a longer inlet manifold like the MG Metro one over the 'log' turbo manifold, or is the turbo one designed as such to slightly restrict the flow for some reason

Also will the MG Metro manifold with carb and plenum still leave room at the back of the bulkhead without having to cut it

The log type manifolds flow enough for well over 200bhp as been proved on here. The advantage of a good flowing manifold is faster spool up time.

It all depends on what turbo and exhaust manifold you are using. A T3 with standard manifold will definitely need bulkhead mods.

You may get away with using on T3 on custom manifold, but if you're going down the custom manifold route you'd be best off using a modern turbo.

There is plenty of room down the back of the block for a modern turbo. *wink*

What turbo are you planning on using?

I'll be using a T3, and will be putting in a turbo box, but was just wondering if I used the MG Metro manifold would the plenum foul on the upper part of the bulkhead where the hole is for the black cover which the loom goes through

I don't think the n/a mg metro manifold clears the turbo

ALthough the log-type are rubbish in NA applications, they work better in turbo applications. Although to be honest I can't remember the technical expination.

But as stated above if you use the cast MG exhaust manifold it's the only inlet that will fit.
