seat retrimming.. anyone had it done?

Ive got my eye on an old set of seats, but they will need a retrim.

Just wondered if anyone has had them done and did it cost alot ect...

or if you have done them yourself, was it worth it?

I re-foamed and put new rubber diaphragms on my seats found it quite simple you need to be tight with the material and think about where to apply the glue.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
VEMS + 12 PSI + Liquid Intercooler = Small Bore FUN!

there used to be a good trimmer in Leigh-on_sea that did a fair few of the hotrods in his time; he was on London RD; no idea if he is still trading though

What style of seat are they? i got a retrim kit for some mx5 seats I had and worked out pretty well in the end doing it myself

Absolutely top notch service. Did all the seat, dash, door cards, hand brake, steering column, gear lever and huge rear load bay side panel trimming on the van for me. Very very good value. All that lot in beige Connolly Hide was less than £800. I think the seats were about £200.

I like the look of the vinyl/cord, something 70's but for the price of a set of speedwells i was thinking I could get a custom job, or try one myself. been watching the videos on youtube, if I can get the seats im looking at for under £50 for a pair I might have a go myself.

we got a quote of £45/seat to get the covers put on the mx5 seats. ended up doing it myself but spent around £40 on hog ring pliers and hog rings (money well spent in my opinion).

if the current covers are in good order to use as a template, and you've got access to a good sewing machine, i'd have a go at it
