Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

if its all fitted correctley and you have some slightley baggy corners

get a kettle and STEAM these to tighten them up

i used to do this in the 70s
that was the way then and still is on minis

go carefully and make sure you DONT scalled yourself!

1) Buy around 75 of those little bullbog clips from staples/partners/wherethefuckever.
2) Fit rods into new headlining and suspend (make sure you have rods in the correct order, front to back).
3) Fit headlining rods up into the correct holes.
4) Starting at the front centre or rear centre ,pull the headlining so the rods are upright, not cocked over. Put a few clips on to hold it.
5) Pull at the rear and secure with clips.
6) Now stick your head in through the side, and you'll see that the folds in the lining that the rods run through are pulling at the ends. Take a knife and put a cut along the fold, which will allow the ends of the folds to fall away from the rod, and make the side-fit a lot better...
7) Pull&clip the drivers/pass sides around 2" either side of the 'B' pillars
8) Go round the whole car, pulling and clipping. If neccesary, trim off the excess so you have around 2-3" to 'play' with...
9) repeat step 6 as appropriate
10) Get it as tight as you can, and leave it overnight
11) Come back to it and re-pull/clip it to get it tight as possible.
12) Creases/loose bits are sorted with the wifes/mums hairdryer. Gently heat the material AROUND the offending area, then quickly re-pull and clip to remove the creases.
13) Leave overnight again (i'm sure there are lots of other jobs you can do in the meantime?)
When you return - If you feel the need, use the hairdryer to heat, pull and re-clip again.
14) Once happy with the fit, trim off the excess using scissors.
15) Now get some Evo-stick contact adhesive, remove one clip at a time, apply to both surfaces, wait for the adhesive to set, then pull and stick the lining to the door/windo surround.
16) Repeat 60-70 times (depending on how many clips you have)! As you confidence grows, you may find it possible to glue/stick 3-4 clips at a time...

That's the hard bit done!
Remember to poke the wires through for the interior light.

I fitted the minispares 'black' headlining around four months back. Was pretty easy - just time consuming, but the results were perfect; A really tight, ripple free headlining. The rear corner pieces (between the rear window and side windows) were pants however. I ended up removing the black cloth off the backing board, re-cutting the backing board to size, then sticking into place.

My sister is so fit I won't show anyone her picture

Lake District

If you haven't got any clips available to hold the headlining in place while fitting it, then just cut an old side rear window seal into pieces about 1.5" long and use these to hold it in place.

my clips cost ?4 for a packet of 30 from staples. Much easier than trying to cut up a rear window seal IMO - but good tip for the pikeys amongst us...
