Last night i noticed that the rear wheel cylinder was leaking quite bad so earlyer today i set off on my travels to my parents house where my tools are, going up the hill by theres to a mini roundabout and the put my foot on the breaks and the pedal hit the floor... The cylinder decided to massivley shit its self and compleatly let go which i have known of before. Luckally for me it was a quiet time of day and it was up hill so jammed it in first and yanked on the handbreak a tad scary i must say.

Anyway all fixed now luckally i had all the parts in my garage to solve the problem.

Edit, spelling as well as Carl

You're well on your way to earning a "Muppet" user title Paul, that really wasn't smart driving with brake fluid visibly leaking :/

Edit: Spelling fail.

Lucky escape.

I experianced epic clutch faliure in my defender yesterday, so knowing other people have stuff to fix makes me feel a little better. My fix is going to be a little more expensive and a lot harder to execute!

the pug is ment to have a fail safe system on it so if it happens your ment to have breaks, it was only a short drive so didnt think i would loose breaks.

It is one story of woe after the other with you Paul.

Take this in the spirit it is intended, but fucking wise up pal. You will only get away with run ins with the police, speeding, driving about with no brakes, for so long.

Then you will either end up in serious bother or even worse with some innocent party in hospital or a box.

To be honest I'm glad you haven't finished your Mini, it seems you are dangerous enough in a bloody 1100cc 106, hopefully you will have grown up a bit by the time you do get something quick.

Everyone speeds, you do, i did, plus you have no idea what my driving abilitys are, so the comment is abit unfair. Fair enough i should have phoned the rac and got dropped off, i thought the break system on the pug would be fine, its ment to be designed not to happen but lesson learnt.

I know i dont always think things through compleatly but heyho

ps i am dyslexic so my spelling does suck, sorry for the outrage this may have caused you...

I have to agree with Tom here, not just as he has a valid point, but more, I cannot see why there was a need to post on here, as there aren't any "bragging rights" or anything gained, or helpful information etc?

Sure, everyone does "questionable" things, whether that be speeding or driving with bald tyres etc, but I cannot see why the world should know..

Paul, quick question.

If your brakes were to have failed with someone in the road in front of you, you hit them police involved etc Would you have owned up to knowing there was a fluid leak?

i dont know what i was expecting to read in this maybe a burst pipe on heavy braking or something.
but for somebody to go and use there car knowing full well that the brakes had a fluid leak is just simply unbelievable!
lets just hope that next time you do something as stupid as this that you don't cause harm to anybody else

Would get a master cylinder repair kit mate. As you have already pointed out your brakes should have kept working, due to my work I have drove plenty of cars with burst brake lines, the other half of the braking circuit still works fine and the car still stops. Needs looked at!

From the posts you make on here Paul we may not know what your driving abilities are.
However we do know that you make some significant mistakes.

Speeding excessivly, driving with with a known brake fault, nearly hitting a copper to name the few I can remember of top of my head.

Not an accident, i did not realise one street was able to go at the same time as me, so i continued around, i took the cornere abit to fast for the wet and realised that the other traffic was comming. Hit the breaks and stopped but caused inconveniance to the policeman i nearlly went into.

Everyone makes mistakes mate, if we didn't we wouldn't make anything at all! However with a car you can cause a lot of damage. Not only to yourself but to other innocent parties. I think you need to step back and think about your actions a little more in the future. Also Tom was just trying to give you a wake up call (like me), so your comment saying he speeds etc too is unfair and childish.

As you have said, lesson learned. However you shouldn't have had to learn it the way you did.

Please try to be safe in future Paul! Last thing we want is someone coming on here to tell us you wrapped yourself round a tree and is pushing up daisies!

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

tom and the others have given you valid advise to be more careful. You knew that your brakes were not working, but you still carried on. You took your own safety and the safety of others into your own hands, what would have happened if you crashed?
