Hi all, im looking to buy a turbo engine soon and it doesn't come with a crank, I was wondering if I bought a "reground" crank or got one and had it "reground" would the standard conrods still fit it? Also how would I go about getting the bearings and the caps for the crank?

Cheers

Craig :)

If by asking about caps you mean the block doesn't have it's original matched main bearing caps included I'd consider getting a different block as matching a replacement set of caps to the block is expensive as they would need line boring.

Yes, the bearing size changes at a regrind but the conrod size remains the same. Crank bearings are available at most motor factors, and online. Try google.

You could go for new steel main caps, but they would need to be line bored
New caps and line boring will work out to be very expensive, so it would be cheaper to get a different block which came with the main caps
