Hey guy, needs some help my standard 998 splutters for a brief moment as im going round a left hand bend, its not instant, but usually just as im leaving the bend.

I wondered if it was a loose connection but that would be pretty instant as soon as i turn in. The fueling has been a little messed up recently due to water in the tank, could it be a fueling issue?

Any thoughts?

If it is delayed, I would think it were a fuel issue. Check the fuel reservoir and float?

I just checked the float chamber and it was full of gunk, so cleaned it out and took it for a spin, but still spluttered, i think im going to need t strip the whole carb down and give it a good clean

As the float was full of gunk, it might be worth whipping the needle and jet out for a quick once over.

Have you check the oil level in the dashpot?

Unlikely to be the tank as the float chamber should compensate for any surge or momentary loss of fuel at the pump.

Clean the whole carb up with carb cleaner and set the float as shown in the Haynes.

since its lh bends , id expect the float to be too high ,and fuel flooding in the carb .

After giving the float chamber a good clean out and ran it for a while the spluttering seems to have stopped.
