My piston on pot 3 has given the exhaust valve a hand closing.

It is a forged omega piston and to me it looks fine and I intend to continue using it, just wondering what your thoughts are on re-using it.

+ Does anyone know a good supplier of 12mm steel pipe for use in a fuel systems? and a good 12mm free flow filter that doesnt cost ?50!!

Cheers Guys
*oh well* Dan

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

sump nut:

looks only a slight dent to me

i would disregard this and continue to use it

how did this happen?

the valve problem needs to be sorted

so this does not to happen again, buddy

12mm steel pipe for the fuel sysyem WOW thats massive plus it rusts!

most of the chaps on hear use 8 or 10 mm copper or quinifer pipe

cheap as chips from say BQ or locall plumber shop

and it dont rust!

thats my view sumpnut:

12mm???

Wow!

I'm using 8mm microbore steel tube. This is available from Ford on a roll plenty long enough to go from the tank, up and down the bulkhead, and back to the tank! It's not rusting yet (7 years)!

It's plated...

The rubber lined, chrome plated P-clips are rusting, but the tube is still like new.

For 8mm copper pipe to have any kind of strength, it must only be a 4.5-5mm bore? A little small maybe? 10mm would be more like it I guess.

Dan, what filter are you using? Why not just get the one from the Ford Focus - and if you REALLY want 12mm ends, just get some adaptors turned in alloy and TIG welded to the ends? Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Im currently using 10mm bore feed from the tank to the pump, 8mm pressure line and 10mm return.

I want a larger 12mm feed from the tank to the pump as it the pump sounds like its struggling (maybe its the crappy champion L101 filter im using).

The inlet side of my pump seems to have a half inch/12ishmm connector so i figured id match it.

Re: The bent valve....My rocker gasket failed completely - tried to stick it together with some blue gasket crap and it didnt work - i lost shit loads of oil, ruined my passenger brake pads (oil fan wheel arch etc) So i was using engine braking and then it started running shit. It would seem that lack of oil on the stem caused it to pinch in the guide.

well sorry to hear sumpnut

i think a lot of us has had trouble sealing the rocker gasket at some time or another

ie: trying to keep this lined up spot on with the cover and head to seal so it does not splat out

thought i would mention that i use evostick contact adesive to fix the gasket to the rocker cover

works a treat and extends the life of the gasket 10 fold as theres no mis alignment any more*happy*

it just stops inplace!*happy*

dont overtighten cork gasket!
