hi

well the barn has been built and has been in action since november time, so my dad and i have finaly managed to get started on my mini!!!

ok iv tried to upload pictures but they didnt work.

i put them on photobucket, and clicked each picture, copied and pasted to here then put

is this wrong? please help lol

Fixed it for you chap.

When getting images from Photobucket on to here, hover over the image and click on the 'IMG code' box, this copies the code you need, so then you can just paste it in to the post you're making on here.

yes it is quite solid, just a few bits of rust thats been sorted.

iv been collecting bits for ages, bought the mini from benross about 4 years ago!!

the spec in mind is.....

engine:
1293cc
8.3:1 cr
gt17 on matty hi-flow manifold
avonbar phase 2 cam
hi spec turbo head
forged omega 15cc dish pistons
turbo crank
cossie intercooler
nic plenum
kad alloy flywheel

body:
honda milano red with black roof and black miglia wheel arches
force racing 10x7 split rims (gold centers)
striped out interiour
internal gear linkage
full rollcage (still trying to decide what one to go for)

you get the idea! lol

its going to be a trackday/weekend toy.

i'll try and keep updating progress on here.

These force rims a getting common as muck.

You can see why. They are the best mini wheels money can buy IMO.

got a bit more done over the last few days...

rear valance needs to be rubed down but this is as far as me and my mate got with it the other night...

the doors are getting the light weight treatment with ally skins and the inner skins removed etc

they both needed repairing at the bottom first....

theres still bits to be done to them like grinding the welds back and getting rid of the surface rust etc.

hopfully the skins will turn up this week.
do you think it will be worth me buying a door skinning tool?

got a bit more done this weekend...

i put black hammrite round the edge where the alu skin will lap over it. i will also put some seam sealer on it before i stick the skin on.

i also managed to rub the rear valance down, ready for its next skim of filler....

hopefully i will be able to get the doors compleated next weekend and get the rear valance done in the week.

well i did a bit more to the mini this weekend. i got the door skins on!!

im happy with the fit of the passenger side. i used a spare door hinge washer/plate as a spaer on the top hinge on it and it lines up fairly well i reckon.

this is the drivers door with no spacers, so im going to fit a spacer in the final build up, im sure it will fit better then.

iv also had the front suspension built up for a little while now.....

next job on the list is to take the doors off again and roll the car on its side, so that i can clean the underside and its nicer to weld the roll cage spreader plates in, and any other bits of welding that needs to be done
