Sometime in the last 6 months during the build I've lost the big washer type thing that goes on the outside of the water pump pulley. The one that's about 2" diameter with a big hole in the middle and 4 smaller holes round the outside. It's a 1275 water pump if that makes any difference..

Anyone got one?

I also broke one of the plastic ends of the roof lining bars, anyone got one of those? (just the end - any colour) or am i making one from a bit of wood..

Cash / Paypal waiting, can pick up if local (S.Yorks)

From your description, that's the spacer that moves the fan away from the water pump.

I don't have a spare myself but if no-one else offers they are a standard item from MiniSpares and others - two different thicknesses IIRC. Just search for fan spacer.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

Ahh, I get it now. I don't have a fan on it. I thought it was just to spread the clamping across a wider area, I didn't realise it was a spacer. Has anyone run the pulley without it, just the bolts + washers?

I've certainly assembled mine with just plain and spring washers (front mounted radiator) because as far as I can remember that is just how the Metros were assembled.

Maybe Andy/John can confirm.

On original A35 A series engines there was a reinforcing plate on top of the fan, designed to stop the flexing of the blades.

I know of several instances where this was omitted and blades flew off, through the rad (Steel two blade fan)

no spacer on our engine. Can't see it doing much more than adding mass for the engine to spin
