after removing as much weight from the rear as i can (as its the part i am currently working on.

So far i have removed the subframe to replace as its now past its use by date

The rear has got superfins, alloy subframe mounts, light weight exhaust, carbon parcel shelf, perspex windows, i have also fitted today a fibreglass bootfloor and i am waiting for my alloy tank

I will be lightening the rest of the car but focusing on the back at the moment

I plan on lightening and seam welding my rear subframe (new one) as well as fitting a fibreglass bootlid

I do not want to change to a rear beam and not want to fork out loads of money on radius arms just wondering if there is anythini else that i can do

Done anything to the rear valance? Attacked it with a hole saw? Reduce weight and drag?

yes think ya can get rid of them to put a diffuser but think my exhaust will get in the way,

I forgot to say my valance is rotton as well as my closer panels so i am going to remove the closers and just fit a fibreglass valance with holes

Why would you need to fork out loads of money for rear arms if you went for a cut down subframe arangement?

cut down? Like a rear beam? That would mean i would need coilovers and i would prefer to keep my current arrangement

It's the radius arms that are the heavy bit on the rear subframe. That's why I have a nice pair of KAD alu rear arms waiting to go on my car (if I ever finish it). *smiley*

Also, you need the valance closing panels if you are having a standard subframe as they form part of the structure that attaches it to the body. No MOT tester worth his salt will let it go through with out them.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I have seen pictures of standard radius arms with lots of holes drilled in them. Can't find the picture though but im sure it was one of the European guys.

You would at least save weight this way removing all the excess grease thats in the arms as a resut of split grease tubes*tongue*

There are a few places that a rear subby can have holes, you could remove the rear section amd replace it with some tube, then mount the exhaust abit higher and fit a diffuser if you wanted

Drives
-Ford S-max Mk2 Ecoboost
-Rover 100 VVC #2 - track project

Searching is all you need on TurboMinis
