This is an odd problem, its not icing, but condensation of water and fuel is pooling up in the carb after I turn off the car.

I took a video, here it is:

Anyone have this issue?
Thanks.

hi jeffrey,
its a very normal thing ,the fuel/air mix is cooling the pipe as it flows to the engine ,and this creates the condensation on the tube outer .

the puddle is a combination of moisture from the air ,and condensed petrol from inside the tube collecting on the long inlet inside ,then flowing down to the lowest point ,when the engine stops running.

if its a really big worry , you could bring a heat conductor ,eg a bit of ally plate etc ,from the exhaust manifold over to the tube ,and that would reduce it .but it would also pre heat the onlet ,which would not be so good for power ,or detonation resistance .

running the tickover as lean as is still smooth may help , but realize this will lean off the whole range .
another thing is to not let it idle for very long before shutting off .

regards
robert

Thanks for the heads up.

Stewart reccomended that I lean out the mixture as well, it seemed to do the trick.

He also reccomended to wrap the intake manifold with heat wrap to help with the condensation.

Or find away to shortern the inlet, however even with my short inlet I still can get condensation.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I just think it might be a safety hazard to have my filter sock soaked in fuel every time I stop anywhere.

I guess why this is some guys go with the weber setup.

Just a short update, I leaned out the mixture half a turn and it is still pooling. I can feel it on the bottom of my filter.

Not sure what else I can do, runs good though.

Oh sorry I miss understood, you mean the fuel is running down back to the carb. I have heard this many times from owners of the vmax style of kit. Shorter inlet and a small carb like a bike carb or a stromberg might be an answer. Means some fabrication and maybe a little lump in the bonet. I know of one person who is trying to change it. Also have a look on tmf at grahamxx build not sure if he fixed it with a water heated manifold that h made himself.
