I still don't understand why. What is it's use? Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

i would have thought weight, bore spacing and opportunity to increase number of journals(with matching crank) would be a potential reason....That and just because they can....marketing reasons. |

Totally agreed. It's pub points.

Yes, but what for? It's not eligable for any motorsport class. Essesnially it's a different engine (i.e. non A-series). When you can make more power than needed from an A-series it's only use is Pub points. Quite the opposite to the rest of KADs stuff, which is well engineered gear for use in motorsport. it would look great in Paul W's car and help with the weight up the strip? I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

To quote KAD on facebook
We also now have an order for our first KAD Alloy Block A-Series engine, which should bring the long awaited Alloy Block project to fruition and see the first alloy A series engines racing in the 2012 season.

Just thinking about the cost. You are probibly looking at £10k + for a complete engine/ transmission unit. Do you get a solid gold engine number plate free? lol On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:

I dont see this as an advantage, i mean what motorsport groupings can it be used in. You would be better off fitting a morden car engine or a motorbike engine. On 19th Feb, 2011 Miniwilliams said:

I would be a lot more excited if they were making cast iron AEG312 thick flange Cooper S 1275 blocks. An alloy block can't possibly save enough weight to be worth the cost. |
