Hi all, Im thinking of putting the tv on the chimney breast, more so as its a 42" and looks a sod wedged in the little alcove next to it,
What im wanting to do is build the breast wall out an extra 6" so the tv is sunk into the wall but im worried about heat build up with the tv being boxed in ??

Anyone any pic's of what they have or thaughts on cooling.

we had this issue with a project a few years back. The client wanted his TV sitting above a living flame fire and the AV installers advised against it because of the heat. The client went ahead with it anyway and 4 years later we've had no issues

We had an LCD TV 32" in a cabinet at work - okay it was on everyday during the week 9-5 it went bang after about 14 months due to the heat build up apparently!
