im getting a noise when driving in 3rd 4th gear, on part throttle or no throttle, and a small back fire every now and then when gunning it (out the back).

when im driving normally i sometimes get a "tut" noise, not all the time, but when i do get it its repeated six times or so. this is on part throttle or no throttle.

its location seems to be comming from the carb or passangers side of the car. im going to cheack theres nothing loose on that side of the car this week that could be making it.

the car seems to be driving well, without stutter or odd lag. my needle profile isn't the best, rich off boost running a little lean at max rpm. I am planing to get a fresh needle and get it on the rollers, maybe with part throttle lean off pipe on if i can.

I just dont want to damage anything and im worried. wanted to see if anyone has had this before.

any help is appreached, thanks for reading paul

ps joe its that noise we had the other day.

Paul,

Have you got acess to the down pipe to whack a lambda boss in?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lambda-Boss-Exhaust-...=item3f06a0fca9

If so if you can get one in we can temporarily whack my afr gauge on to see whats what mixture wise, I cant belive its lean from the amount it uses.

Also I'm still wary af your coil pack, get mine on there for a try,

No part throttle lean of connected.

Quit the beer for one weekend and you'll have enough cash to buy a wideband!

I'd be very surprised if it's going lean.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

An AEM lambda gauge is a must with a turbo engine

i thought i had det once, and it turned out to be a leak coming from the gasket out the side, ive also had a similar noise coming from the carb hitting the bulkhead when the engine vibrates.
