This could be a load of BS and me jumping to conclusions without the correct knowledge but let me run it past you.

I was checking my tyre pressures yesterday (A048's) while the car was running and when i got to the front passenger tyre the heat coming from under the arch (from the rad) was very hot as expected. (Flip front conversion and no inner wings)

The thought popped into my head that the heat off the rad would be heating up the tyre significantly more than the tyre on the other side, which would definatly be the case while parked up.

Would this heating of the tyre still happen on the move and if it did would it actually effect grip on one side to any noticable degree?

I would have thought on the move it wouldnt be noticably differnt, you will have to cooling air from driving and the air from the rad will be forced backwards to the back of the wheel arch i belive. Please correct me if i am wrong

Road tyres don't really get much gripper with heat, rather thay get less. Unlike a race tyre they have to have grip from cold.

The A048s are a sort of cross over between the two. So if heated by the fan when stationary I suspect that it would offer more grip in the short term, but would be quickly evend out once on the move.
