Hello !

I'm going to fit a metro turbo engine in my Mini but it is not a Clubman and it is hard for me to find a model and a place for the intercooler.

All I know is that I retain de rad on it's original place and I'm going to use the standard distributor but with a different cap with wires connections on the sides.

Do you think that I can install an intercooler in front of the car and where ?
Could you recomand me a model that will fit somewhere in the front ?
If you have photos of frontmounted intercooler in non clubman Minis I'm also interested.
Nothing should be seen from the ouside of the car because in France it's prohibited to fit turbo engine in Minis.

The series2 intercooler will not fir straight in with the distributor present - I think a Escort Series1 RST intercooler could be good - but these are very hard to find, even in the UK.

The fiat Croma or Tipo turbo diesel intercooler is quite small also.


Incidentally, i've been gathering pictures of intercoolers together, and now have quite a collection. I will be making a database of these on the manchesterminis website in the near future for everyones reference.
