Interested to know what the tab is on the head gasket.
I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I was looking through the photo set of that car and I noticed they've used a a Mk2 onwards instrument binnacle and screwed 4 chrome screws into it to make it look like a Mk1 binnacle. It doesn't really work though as the speedo sticks out too far. I thought the Germans would pay better attention to detail than that.

cracking looking car, and i think its fair to say its not exactly as original, so having the wrong centre clock isn't going to look out of place. |

My point wasn't that every detail should be correct, I can see it is not rebuilt with that in mind and I do not object to a modified Cooper S within reason. The point was that they have screwed 4 screws into a Mk2 dash binnacle to make it look like a Mk1 even though there are many other differences. On a Mk1 the screws hold the binnacle to the face plate, on a Mk2 the design is a lot more simple and one binnacle holds everything and just screws to the bulkhead. Anyway, it doesn't bother me, I just thought it was an odd detail. |
