I've been thinking about where to get my engine work done. But i'm not sure whether there is anyone local to me that could do the work, or if i would be better off sending it to a place like med, swiftune, smmc etc.

I need the usual done like rebore 20 thou, and the block skimmed, but i also need a 4 bolt main fitted and 10/11 studs drilled.

I just wanted to know if anyone can recommend someone local-ish to me, or if they would recomend me going to a specialist.

cheers, George.

Try contacting your local Mini Club mate.

The closest I have used to you is Tim Styles Racing at Bridgewater or there's Steve Harris Motorsport

Good luck

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.

I don't think TSR do any machining now - they got taken over a few years ago and are bolt-on VW people. Their tester had never MoT'd a Mini before he did my estate !

I use Hamlins in Bridgwater, and they seem to be pretty decent.

Metric is for people who can't do fractions.

Bretts work is excellent, as stated former longman head specialist.

He's doing my 1040 engine at the moment
