ive won an item on ebay and happend to be the only person that wanted it, now the seller doesnt want to sell.
its an injection cast manifold for the price of 99p. now i understand as a seller its not what he was hoping for but he should of started at a higher start price or had a reserve surely, after all they are there to protect the seller for the items minimum value. now he wants to cancel oh well no bargin for me.
dont get me wrong i understand his point of view but it sucks.

im under no illusion, im not going to get it, as brett said it'll just get lost in the post. its just the principle, the item wasnt listed with a buy it now price or a reserve as it puts the listing fee up. there's no other reason i can see why you wouldnt add them.
he was actually selling 2 of them the other had the lamda sensor aswell and that went for 99p too, wonder what the other buyer is thinking????

What a dick...that's why you can set your own starting price or reserve... For all of ebay's faults, setting your own prices isn't one of them....

You can't force him to sell. If you've already paid for it then you can open a non performing seller dispute. If you haven't paid, do it now and when he cancels you open one up. It's 2 strikes and you're out so there is possibility of him being booted off eBay. It costs pennies to put a low starting price.

It actually costs nothing to start the bidding at say £10, however a reserve and BIN price costs...

Has the seller sent you a message saying he does not want to sell at 99p?

If so, I would pass it on to ebay as a complaint

If you don't have any message, I would message him and try to get him to say that he doesn't want to sell at 99p, and then pass that to ebay

The whole point of ebay is that it is an auction which you won and it is a legally binding transaction

I would watch his feedback and look for the other item that went for 99p and contact the buyer to see if the same thing happened to them

That would mean two of you have grounds to complain about the seller, and hopefully he will get banned by ebay

Forgot to mention previously - you could ask the seller to post it using RM special delivery, so it would be insured and needs to be signed for, this would mean that there would be a record of it going through the system

i havent paid yet, i got this message from him at the auction end
'Sorry to disappoint but i tried to take this off ebay but it would let me as there was less than 12 hours less, i didnt really want to let it go for £1 as it not even worth the time sending it (let alone the petrol posting it), if you still want it i will relist it with a buy it now on it'
i dont want a buy it now price though as there's a few on there with a buy it now, also got minimine down the road from me and im sure they have a mountain of them for a fair price as most people upgrade to an lcb.

Tell him yeh, he can put it up, youll bid to win, but youll only pay a pound as per the original auction.

Well it turned up in the post yesterday, I got a message off ebay after 6 days reminding me to pay so I messaged the seller asking him to sort it out as I didnt want a non payment against my name and also to be used as a reason to relist. I got a message back apoligising for how he'd been and asking me if I still wanted it, if so to pay and he would send it. Bargin it turned up and im now a happy chap.

I would have just opened a dispute straight away!

I would of normally but the wife keeps moaning that im too hot headed and jump in with both feet etc so for once I listened and it worked out ok.
Dont tell her that though.
