Looking to purchase straight cut drop gears and was after opinons / recommendations for brands ?

At this stage was thinking Mini Spares 23/30/23 teeth set for a 1300gt block 1330cc turbo on jk sccr gearbox. Am I on the right track ?

Yes.

However if you want it to be a little quieter the 24/30/24's are a bit better.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

I don't think I've heard how much noise they make. Would you need ear plugs with 23/30/23 ? (stripped out interior)

SC drops are not nice for long journeys.

You'll either love the noise or hate it.

Or if you are like me you will enjoy it for first 15 minutes of your journey then quickly get fed-up.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

If you don't like the noise you could always use helicoil drops on a sc gearset, robert is using this set up on over 200horses, this is what I am using but not yet drove the car

Does anybody know how noisy it will be? I am using clubman sc gearset with heli drops, will you hear the gears over engine noise?

You should hear the gearbox a bit benny but I reckon it should be fairly quiet.

To my mind it will be the same sound as when driving in first with the standard box, only with every gear st cut.

one day boost will be mine!

I don't mind some noise (use to the noise of dry clutch motorcycle) but wouldn't like to end up with some like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fgy9vc4rf90

Helicoils are actually stronger due to the larger surpface area, sc items reduce side load

Just a note. It's helical not helicoil. :)
