I had, but it isn't quite finished, so I thought I'd show up anyway, family in tow, but after all my promises to them of what an experience it would be.... they got a 1 1/2 hour ride in the cab of a recovery vehicle :)

The best bit of the journey was wifey (in the second row of the cab) trying to whisper to me "don't take him that way, he'll never get around the bends".

We live on small country lanes - and when we arrived with no problem, she got out and said "I'm sure it was a lot longer than that when we set off"

(she had only looked at it with the Focus being loaded, as per the photo, not after the bed had been retracted.......) :)

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

Highlight of the weekend was Brett beating a Supra :)

That did get quite a cheer from the crowd in the grandstand.

Good day overall. We got the car there, it made noises (not all the right ones), drove it up and down the service roads a few times and didn't get sunburnt like normal :)

Just need to sort fuel pump/filter arrangement and extend the clutch arm to get a bit more control.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.

Wasn't a bad day today, spent most of it half asleep. Good to meet a few people, and phil of course, who had a heroic 100odd mile trek with a knackered gearbox, now that's dedication!

I last saw him sitting on Tesco car park waiting for recovery to arrive, he said he'd had the gearbox 10 years, pretty good all things considered!

Had fun, too much beer and broke the van. All in all a successful weekend.

Well there was lots of highs and some lows

highs: I got a new best of 13.9 and 16 runs and the aftermath of John being sick all over Andy's stuff

lows: I got kicked off as the MK1 was sick oil on the burn out, and i have just limped the last 5miles to my house at 20mph max as i had No power and a bad knocking sound. *crying*

I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

Nothing is impossible it just costs more and takes longer.

I had a good weekend, chatted to loads of people and consumed much beer. I could not break the 14 second barrier though. my best was a 15.07 with my n/a 1380. The 16v turbo project will gain momentum me thinks!

It truly was a weekend for mechanical carnage. I need to check my gearbox over as its now making an unpleasent whining noise.

Did anyone else think that the attendance was down this year?

The general car park looked only half full compared to previous years, although there seemed to be more Minis.

Was a good weekend never the less.
