yeah sorry I should have done a search really!
in response to b16_b I got quoted ?434.30 comprehensive (but not allowed to drive other cars) that is on a 1982 998cc with alloys declared. I said I would be changing to a 1275 later in the year and they wanted a couple hundred more i think.

For 19 yrs old that is a pretty good quote as far as I am concerned, especially fully comp.
HIC are widely acknowledged as the best prices going for modified stuff/younger drivers so I doubt you will do any better than that.

I must have got a bargain on insurance.
On my Turbo mini, which is really modified, rollcage, engine transplant, bodykit, alloys etc I'm paying ?275 fully comprehensive and I'm only 21 with 6 points on my licence, all declared.

?275 is surely wrong. I pay ?200 on my N/A mini with all mods declard with 3000miles limited and on a clasic policy. Its a second car and I have 7+ years no claims, oh and I'm 30.

Is this another aprill fool??????? I think so.

Thats with Adrian Flux, that is my annual premium that I have just paid, thats with 67% No Claims. It's all about haggleing. Mine is mile limited to 1000 miles, give or take a little.

CIS wanted ?330 3rd Party Fire and theft.

Thinking about it, they insure me on the mini with my no claims etc on the mini for ?275, then they insure me on my everyday car, my Calibra for ?800 fully comp, maybe its a cheaper deal for me because they insure both my cars?

maybe so mate, adrian flux weren't that good for me, but I am a few years younger! cheers anyhow.

Insuring two cars with the same company on different policies can work out cheaper.

The reasoning being that you can't be driving both of them at once!!!

Now I see. That is exactly how I have my cars done. My Elise and mini are with flux. this make the mini quite cheep. I have found in the past that after a certain number of mods the insurence does not change. The 1000 miles limited saves loads too.

No hope for me then getting a better deal for limited mileage. I do 1000 miles a month just to and from work.

wouldn't it be a shame if you got limited mileage to 1000miles and then your speedo drive "accidentaly" fell off when you were near your 1000 miles *wink*

be a dam shame if you crashed with it off! or do they fall off ..lol

il prob pay any price aslong as its insured...payed all that money into it so why go low on the insurance of your pride and joy...sometimes you have to shop around and just pay for wot you can get cover wise...
