Bear with the image link please, but I've often seen these pot res's on oem turbos for sale. Is this to help gt rid of heat soak at shut-off to help cool the turbo down? Anyone run anything like it?

That looks like an accumulator - they are used on fluid systems to either damp out pressure fluctuations or, what it will be doing in this case, maintaining pressure/flow to the turbo bearings for a short time after the engine (and hence oil pump) stops.
Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |
