I get the Ferris Beuller reference. Just wondering what Robert is actually looking for?

A MK1 Metro because he is nuts? Or some nuts for a MK1 Metro?

Ah wheel nuts.

For steels or alloys Robert? If steels they are the same as std mini steel nuts.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Metros use standard 60° taper nuts as found on post-84 Minis.

Metric is for people who can't do fractions.

He needs the ones with a shank and a flat washer under the head of the nut, similar to revolution nuts or the ones on minilife/force racing wheels.

Now the title say wheel nuts.... (instead of just nuts)... I've got some.

From alloys on the early MG Metro (with the stupid metric wheels).

But how many different versions are there to go with how many different wheels ???

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

As a last resort Robert, try these lot http://www.mini-metro.co.uk/

They are not exactly the brightest of people, so you might have to send them that picture above so they know what they are looking at, since half the time they don't know what they are looking at when they are looking at it.

maybe the one on the right could be modded to use ? these wheels dont have the covers for the nuts ,so thay could stick out a bit .

You need the shanked nut as the thread doesn't stick out much beyond the flat for the nut in the wheel.

Any nuts like these can be turned down to fit:

Unfortunately not - similar to the middle and right ones in the photo insomuch as they have the seat bit free to rotate on the nut bit, but mine have a 45 degree taper on the seat bit.
I guess from what the others have said, mine must have been a Mk2.

I'm sure a man of your calibre Robert could modify some other nuts to suit.

I'm assuming you have some wheels that need these nuts- is another option to countersink a taper into the wheels and use tapered nuts?

yes ,trouble is my rev ones have a far thinner shank .

rod , do your tapered ones lend themselves to having the taper turned off to create a shank of 16.5mm?
