Hey guys,
Just finished rebuilding the mini. Its got new master cylinders from minispares, all the brake lines are new but the calipers and all the drum setup is as before (used to work fantastic)

No matter how many times i bleed the brakes they are crap on the pedal, What am i missing?????

Ive made sure all the joints are and checked the piping / joints for leaks. Bled them about 6times now, each time the air bubbles stop and them pedal is still crap
((PS. i run servo a servo if that makes a difference))

:)

Never assume the new component youve just bought works.

Every break has air bubbles?? Or is it just one or two? How are you bleeding them and are you making sure the resivior is properly topped up?

what method do you use for bleeding them?
and in my experience the rear drum cylinders go bad with almost no warning
same for the displacer unit ( if the servo system had one) i just couldnt get the rears bled up properly always seemed to be dragging in air into the rear line

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

are calipers on the right way up?

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM

A friend of mine did that once - bleed nipples on the bottom of the calipers

A place claiming to be a tuning shop did that over here too. They had put over 4 litres through them trying to bleed them before someone pointed it out to them !!!

needless to say they arent in business anymore. Although their intercooler waterspray that activated the rear window squirters had to be the funniest !

Ive bled the rear then the front twice.. Then i tried alternate (front left/rear right/front right/rear left), then i tried clockwise, then i tried bleeding front then rear then letting it settle out over night then bleeding again..
I get to the stage were there next to no bubbles, the brakes work from half depression of the pedal..
I top the reservior up after every go on a bleed nipple..
The front disc nipples are defo on the top (i checked that early on LOL)..

Ive even used a one man brake bleeding kit (the thing you attach to the inner tube and prerssurise the system with)..

Just cant make them any better. So maybe its the rear cylinders then you rekon brett???

Pull the hand brake on and try the pedal,

If it comes up nearer the top then the rear shoes need adjusting.

mole (pipe clamp is better but any port in a storm)grip a flexi hose and press the brake pedal once and hold the pressure on while getting someone to release the grips and see which one has the most travel
