Hey guys,

been on the forum for a while now and learned a lot.....beside the english so sorry for that.

I got a problem with a leaking mini.

The car is leaking from the gearbox end (one of the covers of the dif) but it's not oil it's petrol do you guys now where that is comming from....(i've shut off the fuelline so there is no fuel comming to the engine).

Is there a possibility that there whas to much fuel and that the ran in between the piston and the cilinder to the gearbox..?????

My next question is: It doesn't run at all anymore, went for an mot and drove towards it not a problem....tried to get home ...for 50 yards not a prob but then died and does not want to start anymore.....turns over, has a spark, fuel pump runs and spits fuel...... but no fuel going in the cilinders anymore.....is there any idea????

is there a basic det up for the hiff 44 carb....????

please help...

thanx Bas from holland.....

Fuel pump leaking badly into the engine possibly? Are you sure its not dripping from the carb/fuel lines and running down makin it seem like its leaking from there?

1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

Check the oil on the dipstick. More than likely as the guys say fuel pump.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

bas you must check that all fuel lines are ok first!

then what usaull happens the fuel pump is goosed internally dumping fuel into the gearbox oil thining the oil and increasing the volume in the sump.

is this the case ? if so change the pump buddy. if not your float bowl valve is sticking and as well.

Hey chaps...thanx for the advice allready...

uopdate.....all the fuel-lines are ok and not leaking......when i put the fuel pump on it spits fuel against the wall....in figure of speach....

i do not know if there is fuel in the gearbox...i will look for that first....

but you guys all think that it is the fuel pump....hmmmmmmm

I will drain the gearbox --> new oil then!

a new pump would do ok then.....

cheers guys

pull the dipstick out and see if you can smell petrol; also check the levels to see if this gives you an indication

if its an electric pump then it is unlikley to be the problem; it is the mechanical pump that can allow fuel into the sump.

where in Edinburgh are you? I'm through in business a fair bit at the moment and could have a quick look at it for you if I can
