Hi all

think i found the problem with as i took the plenum chamber apart the gasket was abit shoddy, replacing it no but noticed the spring thats inside the chamber and when i put it back together the first time i placed it in as could find no way of fixing it in place

anyone got any tips on what it does and how to fit it back together properly

Its a pressure dump valve. All it does is relieves excess pressure (above 10psi I think), basically to prevent the engine from being over boosted.

Most people block them up tbh. I used a metal bar cut to the right length to hold the cup seal in place.

The spring should fit into the recess, then on the other end should be a rubber/plastic cup that seals up against the seat on the main body of plenum...if that makes any sense? lol

cool, cheers for the quick reply

just so i know to make sure its the right way round, the black cap sits toward the front of the car and the spring rests on the back wall (bulkhead end)

or is it ment to be the other way round

Option 1 looks to be the right way around

Option 1

However, if you are using a dump valve you are better blocking it off.

Is option D the answer to Question X?
