As topic, Ive Just bought a boot lid with a Lucus WFT576 attached, Im really struggling, the nut is siezed solid & there isn't anything to grab onto at the other end (below), Ive soaked it in oil and tried allsorts, ideally I dont want to destroy either part.

Do you have an impact drill atall? And have you tried wedging something inbetween for abit of leaverage to stop it spinning?

Is it possible to partially tap the side you're trying to remove the nut, thread a bolt in, and use that as a means to put a spanner on to prevent it from spinning and get move leverage on? On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

use a stud extractor on the back where the hole is to hold it in place whilst unscrewing the front ? Yes i moved to the darkside |
