This is likely a very stupid question, but i'v had a search but can't find the answer i'm looking for.

Basicallly my big end bearings were dead from my donor engine so need new ones.

Looking on minispares they offer 5 main choices:

Standard size,
+10 Oversize
+20 Oversize
+30 Oversize
+40 Oversize

Question is, are the larger sizes relative to overbores o something else?

ie Do you need +20's for 1293's?

Thanks

You need over side bearings when the crank journals have been reground. Get you crank journals measured to see if they need grinding or are already under size

ah! Well that makes sense. My crank needs its journals regrinding so i'll get them measured and sorted properly.

Excellent. Thanks for clearing that pu

if you speak to the machine shop your about to use, ask them to re grind + whatever with bearings to match? i gave my machine shop some part numbers and 7am next day had some bearings ( cheaper than i could buy too)

Will do. I'll make sure they supply the bearings to match the regrind.

Thanks for the advice
