i have a problem i have just assembiled my transfer case to box to get the shim thickness right for the idler gear i have put two 1.031" shims in with the gaskit in and when torqued up to 18lb the idler gear locks up i have taken one out and measured the gap and get .028 so .025"+0.03" clearence my problem is 31+25=56/2=28 so i need 2x 0.028"shims to keep it in the middle. they dont do 0.028" shims

Use a thicker gasket. The genuine gaskets are the best On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

Minispares stock good stuff and some crap stuff. Buy a genuine ROVER gasket. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:
Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |
