Hi, i have bought at last a mini turbo. currently the engine is standerd from a metro turbo, afew little additions like a intercooler, but its running standerd boost and has no dump valve..... i crave that little woosh soo... whats the best way of pluming it in to the plenim chanber? i can't do alloy welding and i don't know any one with the gear is it best to find a local compainy who would do it or does any one make them? or is there another way? |

avon bar sell them, but tbh i thnk there expensive, a local company could p[osibly do it cheep (metty turbo knows someone that he got to do mine for ?30) or you could buy a fitting kit and just plumb it into your intercooling hose somewere? not as effective as the plenum but it will still work lol

easy to do yourself then have welded, shouldnt cost much. prep is the hardest bit (well most expensive! lol!) so do that bit yourself.

I found the end of a water pump or thermostate ideal for the mounting piece (was gonna put flange but thought it might spark off pervy comments) They are alloy and have the flared end:> -MINI CLUBMAN 1380 TURBO- |

Diaphram type is probably best, the piston type ones (like mine) stick after a while because the seals react with the fuel and swell a bit. I managed to replace my seal with one made from viton which does'nt react with fuel. Cost ?6 mind for a farty little rubber seal but works. -MINI CLUBMAN 1380 TURBO- |

We now do a threaded dump valve. So all you have to do is drill and tap the plenum.

how much would that cost? the problem is i have to take it apart to fit it, and at the moment this turbo is my backup car which im useing. so its going to have to wait till my 1380 comes back from the body shop. |
