Brakes binding when warm?

Hey guys,

Took my car for a drive (!) the other day, and after about 15 mins, the brakes started to feel like they were ever-so-slightly on. It did it a bit previously, but I slackened off the handbrake a smidge thinking it was that, but it's not changed.

I am running Cooper-S fronts and standard rear drums.

Any ideas?

You got a servo? Is the pedal returning properly?

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

To see which it is, drive a while with minimal use of the brakes then stop and quickly feel the centre of each wheel in turn.

If they are all hot it's most likely a servo or master cylinder or bias valve problem, if only one or two (front or back) are hot then it's most likely sticking pistons in either the front caliper(s) or rear wheel cylinder(s).

I had that some time ago; corrosion on the piston caused it to stick.

aftermarket master cylinder? if so this is a common compaint on that other forum i use .. need a spacer under the master to allow it to "return" fully :)
