Today i took the satsuma out for a spin ironing out a few bugs, i was on over run in 3rd doing a fair speed for about 45 sec to a minute on a steepish long hill. When i came to accellerate the car bogged down and started spluttering and running like a bag of shit. Almost stalling out, i immediately thought icing? I planted it and got on boost and kept it on boost and it all cleared up? Any suggestions to what it might have been? It had been raining but im pretty sure it wasnt an electrical issue.

I used to get problems on part throttle on boost (mainly up hill) with the float emptying - it'd display exactly those same symptoms - if I backed off the throttle and then reapplied it was fine, or on full throttle the problem didn't seem to occur. On 15th Jul, 2009 fastcarl said:

If the engine'bogs down' that is to say it stil runs but with no guts, it is likely pig rich. If the engine hesitates missfires and backfires its likely excesively lean.

^ I agree with sprocket. Especially since you had the problem where the float chamber wasn't filling. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |
