All,

Today tried to order some mains and big end shells in std/std sizes, tried a couple of the larger well known places and apparently the shells in that size are in very short supply at the moment??

Has anyone else come across this??

After a bit of shopping today I have got everything together to build the engine apart from the bearings.........

Tom, I've always used AE and never had a problem as such.

Vandervell have changed the material that there made from.
I dont know if it was a temporary thing or not, but when i got a new crank, Nick Swift supplied me with shells from an Australian company ( cant think of the name ), cos the vandervell ones where no longer upto the job.

AE are up to the job then, right will have a ring around tomorrow then...........

I have got an AE oil pump I bought some time ago, it appears to be the same as the Avonbar type, with "Powerflow" cast into the pump casing. Any ways to check if it is the pukka item? It has the oil ways cast in the correct (OE) positions, and also has a steel back cover......

Just as an update, sourced some Vandervell HD type today from Avonbar.
