Australia oi oi oi!

hi guys

anyone had a go at making there own?

i was going to order some but i think i can get my hands on a sheet locally (australia) the hard coating type sheets, i think it would be cheap and pretty easy to do.

mine will be for sliding windows but maybe look into the rover mini also.

depends how easy it is to smooth it all out, not even sure what to cut it with.

i found this site to be great http://www.acwmotorsportplastics.co.uk

just postage is about the price of a massive sheet.

I thought about making some myself so got a quote for a sheet that would be big enough to do the 4 side windows. It came to £200 for 4mm or £250 for 5mm!

ACW Motorsport do a set, starting from £125.00 (http://www.acwmotorsportplastics.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=8).

Could be worth it.

I made my own just out of standard polycarbonate instead of the lexan coated stuff, and they cost about £60-£70 for the material and took an afternoon to make. *oh well*

I am in the process of doing some CAD drawings of all the windows so I can make my own. When I have the drawings sorted I will post them up.

I will be getting my plastic from here. One because it is good value and two because it is not a mile from my house.

I can get hold of a 1.2m x 1.8m sheet of 4mm polycarb for about £70, enough to do all the side windows and the rear, not sure how I could post though!

Australia oi oi oi!

Is it the coated stuff? Or normal poly? As it scratches very easy. I think I can find cheaper locally, will keep hunting
