Thats the best stuff to use tbh, but I found it difficult to get hold of. Brass is a good alternative.

thanks for the quick reply, i have found on ebay loads of sizes for the black iron plugs and also i have a plumber mate who could probably get me some.

i only use cast iron plugs on the 2 end stud holes,,, the 2 that interfere with the old stud spots,,, the rest can just be old bolts cut off www.miniman.com.au

I agree, just for plugging water ways and unused holes, steel screw stick is fine.
