The time has come, the estate is for sale :( I really wish I had space to keep it, but new project has to live in the garage so I can start work.

I have owned this car for around 7 years, it has gone through various stages of modifications, and I believe is now one of the finest examples in the country.

1981 Clubman Estate
12 months MOT and TAX

Ex Retro Cars Magazine Feature car
Full strip down rebuild and respray in 2008
Dry stored and dry weather use only since.

Previously fitted with 200bhp turbo engine, the car still carries the modifcations to suit including fully adjustable suspension, Cooper S Brakes with grooved discs, 8mm fuel line and return line installed. Full spec below.

Now fitted with a low mileage 998 engine and box with stage 1 kit fitted. This engine is a gem, starts on the button and holds excellent oil pressure. Makes for cheap insurance and running costs, but has enough grunt to still have fun.

Body

Finished in Rover Champagne Beige
Original rear side windows removed and replaced with one piece polycarbonate
Rear door windows replaced with polycarbonate
All windows bar windscreen have light smoke tint
Group 2 style arches body colour
Chrome foglight
Front bumpers removed
Large mesh grille to feed radiator
Honda crx indicators
Side lights built into head lights
Chrome mirrors and wiper blades
Removable Fibreglass bonnet
Pressed aluminium number plates, also comes with normal plastic plates
6 point custom bolt in roll cage
Sills, floor and inner arches undersealed
Engine bay fully decluttered, all wiring hidden
Ultra rare KN Turbo alloy wheels in excellent condition, 10*5" fitted with virtually new Yokohama 32R Tyres
Spare 10" steel

Suspension/brakes

Gaz lowered adjustable shocks all round
Hi-Los
Adjustable bottom arms with poly bushes
Adjustable tie rods with poly bushes
Adjustable rear radius arm mounts
Suspension proffessionally setup
Solid mounted front subframe
Cooper S calipers
Grooved 7.5 discs
Mintex Pads
Goodridge braided lines throughout

Engine

Approx 30000 miles on engine
998 with K+N style filter
Maniflow exhaust system and LCB manifold
Megajolt electronic mappable ignition
Front mounted radiator with alloy header tank
Twin electric fans switched from dash
Silicon hoses throughout
K+N Breather filter
Goodridge braided oil gauge line

Interior

Centre three clock binacle, oil pressure and water temp, converted to blue led lighting
Rev counter converted to blue led lighting
Centre switch panel smoothed and fitted with rocker switches for lighting and hazards, choke cable and serial port for Megajolt ECU
Megajolt ECU installed under dash
Blade type fuse box installed under dash
RS turbo Recaro seats, slight fag burn on each
Washer bottle installed in rear seat bin
Uprated battery under rear seat
6 point custom bolt in roll cage
Fire extinguisher
Alloy door handle set
Black door cards
Wooden rim steering wheel
Steering column strengthened

Currently has 12 months MOT and TAX
Only issue with the car is the fuel gauge does not work, requires a new sender unit.
There a few stone chips as can be expected, this car has been used not trailered to be polished at a show and shine.

£3800 ono

I would appreciate everyone's feedback regarding the price on this, I have struggled to decide on a suitable price.

Thoughts?

It's a cracking car, but i think you have it priced too high.

Stunning car, a fair price I think for the work and quality of build. I think you'll sell this very quickly at that price.

Have you tried advertising it on clubman estate register?
