Just sprung a big oil leak which seems to be coming from the exhaust side near the water pump end of the gasket.Oil running down the block, front cover and spots on the pipework in that area.Is this a well known failure mode?I seem to remember the oil feed to the rockers passes up this area.Any comment would be much appreciated before i start pulling the head.BTW the oil press is 55psi on the relief valve. If we are talking about the oil feed to the rockers then I thought it came up on the other side of the block i.e. the alternator side ? |
