I am away to replace the two rear corners where the rear subframe is mounted with the captive bolts.
Short of making a template of the subframe mounting points is there any tips to keep the mounting points in the correct position? I am worried about getting things out of line.

Any hints tips appreciated.

Cheers

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Do one side at a time, then you can measure from the other side. You can be slightly out as the trunions are rubber mounted.

I got a good tip from Somerford minis.

Cut out the metal from one sise at a time. refit the subframe amd bolt up the new section and tack weld it with it all bolted up. Unbolt it all and fully weld in place. And itll fit first time!!

That is kind of what I was thinking. I have the shell sitting upright on its front bulkhead so was going to make a template with some flat bar. I am worried about the car crabbing when it all goes back together.

I can't remember the last time I saw a Mini 'crabbing'

The shap of the body does tend to make it look like they are slightly, when they are not.

Mind you, I just got the wheels on this 94 cooper shell I have to move it somewhere else, and there is some serious geometry issues that would see it crab for sure *hehe!*

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
